Measurement Options and Solutions for Solar Panels

With the technology series SolarMeasure Schenk has complemented its product range with precise and reliable measurement solutions that focus on the physical and electronical characteristics of solar panels. These innovative developments are available as stand-alone systems or as options integrated into your SolarInspect system.

In-line/Off-line I-V Curve Tracer

The Schenk I-V Curve tracer measures the I-V curves of thin-film modules before lamination. The fully automated system is based on a proprietary LED illumination technology which enables an evaluation of the electrical characteristics of the entire thin-film panel, as well as the detection of local variations.

Electrical Insulation Tester

This stand-alone measurement solution performs an electrical insulation test between the solar cells after scribing. The system detects shorts and minimum resistance between neighboring cells.

Microscope Station

Based on a high resolution matrix camera, the Microscope Station has been developed as a measurement solution that focuses on width and distance between scribe lines.

Resistivity Measurement

This add-on option to thin film module inspection, measures the sheet resistance of the solar panel‘s substrate coating.

Haze Monitoring

Schenk‘s Haze or Light Trapping Monitoring option has been developed to check the layer structure of incoming TCO coated glass.

Layer Thickness Monitoring

With this innovative option PV manufacturers can monitor local thickness variations after layer deposition steps covering the entire panel area. It enhances the control of the coating process.

Dimension Measurement

As another measurement addition to SolarInspect, this system measures length, width and right angularity of the glass panels at the beginning of the production line.
