Inspection of Glass Sheets
Quality assurance and process control have become more important than ever in the production of glass sheets. New, high-tech processing steps for today's glass types, such as fire protection lamination or ITO/TCO coatings, also boosts the expenditure of production. Thus, an early reaction to deviations from quality and process standards can save enormous costs for material loss. Glass contaminations or defects in the glass can cause glass breakage at a later processing stage. Also, profound secondary costs such as downtime of production lines and even guarantee costs can greatly decrease yield and profit.
Modular Concept for Tailor-Made Solutions
Schenk's GlassInspect solution is a modular optical vision system capable of inspecting a wide range of panel sizes and types, including bare glass substrates, coated and laminated glass, structured and unstructured solar glass, OLED material and many more.
Based on a modular concept utilizing high-resolution cameras and high performance LED illumination units, GlassInspect can be optimized for various applications and inspection tasks within the production process. Defect classification software modules, each specifically tailored to the various production steps, helps glass manufacturers improve quality at a higher yield.
GlassInspect is available either fully integrated into automated production lines or as a stand-alone system with loading and unloading capabilities for batch and prototype production.
